Kaleb and Josh,

i am planning to still go. I sent chris an email asking for a weather report for sat in NJ (prior to seeing his post). Probably the decision to not go will be made on saturday. I am making every effort to go but will probably not go if the weather is really really bad and i think we won't be able to make it back home. That said plan on being at the bunker or our meeting point around 730-8am to leave for the tournry. If it is raining plan on a 7am departure from MD.

We are not scheduled to get hit very badly up here, still 1-4 inches. I still have a bunch of guys coming in from Philly, NJ, and NY that will be making it in. Unless we get hammered up here tonight, I will not be calling the tournament off. If you guys don't come, just give me a call to give me a heads up. I look forward to see all of you again!

I dont like prying into other people's buisness, but I noticed you guys mentioning leaving around 7am -8am. I just wanted to make sure you guys know that this event is in Woodbridge North Jersey and not at Showcase's new battle bunker. The tourney is scheduled to start at 10am I think right? It's 2 hours north from me and I live in jersey so I wasnt sure if you guys had the locations confused.

I know it's got me wondering how 7:30 got to be the number. Mapquest told me 3:30 from my place, but the bunker is well in the right direction from me so I was guessing that the trip would be about 3 hours. If we are going, with the weather and all, we better be pulling out of the bunker or wherever by 7. I figure it's ok if we're a little late on acount of the weather.
This only matters IF we end up going.

Ahhh Ok. Ignore my post then Smile

I was thinking it would take you guys longer since it takes me 2hrs 30 mins to get to the battle bunker in Glen Burnie and 2 hours to Woodbridge, but I didnt take into account that I'm a little east of your path to Woodridge and you could just shoot straight up on the Jersey turnpike. I guess it's a shorter drive for you folks than I thought. Just wanted to make sure though.

Theres about 7 inchs already and the wind is blowing. I dont know if we are going to make it. If the roads are covered theirs no way. I hope they delay the torn till next week or something. I really wanted to play:)

So after 2 hours of digging out my truck and the path to my door at 6am, I finally made it out and to the expressway. Even with a hummer, I was slidding around and struggling to make it through this storm. Unfortunatly I wont be making the event. I hope it's rescheduled but it looks like north jersey didnt get hit so bad, so I doubt it.

hey guys

I talked to Chris today around 530-6 am. Anyone from the bunker that paid will be credited towards the next event they hold and you attend. I would send chris an email just to make sure though. I wish i could have gone as talking to chris he seems to be nice guy to run an event. I hope the weather will be nice for their next fantasy event that i want to go to so i can actually go.

Hey Guys,

I am going to run this through Mike Clark and the event on the 6th, though its not one of ours, ite run by Ed Maul, I think we may be able to credit you guys to that event. The total cost for that event is $20.00, so you would pay $5.00. Its at Showcase!

Here are the results from the fantasy event on 2/6/10. I would also like to take the time to thank the players that could make the trip. The breakdown of the scoring is: Battle Points/Comp/Painting=Overall Score.

Syrus Gables(Warmongers, Brentonians) 70/10/19=99(Overall, Players Choice)

Victor(Tomb Kings) 71/7/12=91(Best General)

Paolo Llunch(Warmongers, Dark Elves) 68/9/14=91(2nd Overall)

Mike Wilcomb(Big Gunz NE, High Elves) 58/11/19=88(3rd Overall)

Adam Kraman (Dwarfs) 62/15/10=87(4th Overall)

Fernando Gables(Warmongers, High Elves) 52/8/17=77(5th Overall)

Scott Lloyd(HQ the Club, Warriors of Chaos) 46/9/19=74(Best Appearance)

James Hinkle(Big Gunz NE, Orcs and Goblins) 51/8/14=73

Bobby Paul(Dark Elves) 46/8/17=71(Sortsmanship)

Ray O’Dowd(Big Gunz NE, Dark Elves) 40/10/17=67

Will Lada(High Elves) 45/9/8=62

Kalai McPherson(Big Gunz NE, Empire) 29/13/7=49(Smokin’ Boots)

We can do the credit from that tournament to this one pretty easy Chris.

Ed isn't actually running it, he just pushed for us to have it and is pushing people to come play in it.) I, or one of the Biggunz will be TO for the day. It uses the European Team Championship rules. Sports, painting, and battles. No comp, instead they have a checklist of what you can or can't take. Some general rules, some by the army. We'll actually have the New Zealand team captain for the ETC there, looking to get (...his butt handed to him...) ...some practice in. People from down around Baltimore will remember John Mattews from his GW days.

I'm definitely in on the tournament for the 6th.

Someone send me the tournament address to tournaments@innercirclegamingclub.com

I don't understand the points "Armies are 2000/2250/2600 points"???

Ya, depending on which army you get different amounts of points. Deamons get 2000. Orks, Ogres, Dwarves (odd, I think) 2600. Everything else 2250.

Yea, Capital Gaming Club in Virginia uses the ETC comp system and it actually works pretty well. Even though I'm not a huge fan of decreasing the amount of points some armies can take, it does seem to bring the harder armies in line with the majority of the others.

My WoC still got beat into the dirt by DoC though, even with 250pts more Crying or Very sad

It's absolutely an odd system, no bones about it. But as the name says "Blade Ed Maule", he and a bunch of folks have been wanting to try out the European Tournament System. Believe it or not, this is used inEurope and a lot of the former British Empire. Take a look at the rules. They restrict a lot of things, and you build the best list you can within that system.

I'm debating playing my orcs or ogres, just for the fun of playing a larger army. My poor trolls get shelved I think, not sure if I can make a troll army work without Throgg. Maybe...

Yea, I really like this system and the VA tournies are some of my favorites. Unfortunatly Joko I actually think O&G are one of the armies that get hit the hardest by this system. You're restricted to only 6 fanatics, 1 of the same rare choice, limited warmachines and special slots (so no mass bolt thrower shots). Also special characters are not allowed. My TK fare extremly well with this though. farao

I'm in for sure. Either a friend of mine is bringing Orcs or I'm borrowing his. I mean, why not? I would never expect to run them otherwise, the extra points and restrictions on magic make them viable.

I hope I don't have to play my skaven, they seem pretty immune to the restrictions for whatever reason. The list I would be tempted to bring would be nigh unstopable and super douchy lol.

OK. I don't see any restrictions on painting. I assume this means fully painted, fully based is not a requirement.

I just left a message on the Showcase forums, asking how the credit works. I'll post here again if Mike has any info to share on how it's going down. I tried signing up for the event on the Big gunz website but I cant adjust the entrance fee to $5 rather than 20.

If you have credit from the tournament at Game Room, do the following:

Paypal the additional 5.00 to me at MikenJudyC@aol.com. If you don't have paypal, or don't have a friend with paypal, email me, and I'll send you an invoice.

Include the info I need to register you on the site, in the message from Paypal. Name, Phone, email, forum name you use on various boards, State your from.

-or-

Since you have all but 5.00 paid, you can also email me at Mikenjudyc@aol.com, and let me know you plan to attend and want to pay the other 5.00 at the door. Include all the information I need to register you.

Either way, let me know, and I'll get you registered for it.

-Mike
