PostSubject: Warhammer 40k Rpg   Thu Aug 13, 2009 8:23 am

Hey Guys, I talked to 2 or 3 other members that said they might be interested in doing a Dark Heresy campaign. I will be up at the bunker on Sunday and Monday for sure if you want to talk to me in person about this or just leave a message here for me. I personally would rather play in the game rather than run it, but I am willing to supply the books. Rogue Trader comes out in a week or so. So I will have that book as well so we don't have to just run an Inquisitorial style game we could run a Warhammer 40k Rpg and do what ever we want. I suggest a group of roughly 6 to 8 players and one Storyteller. But we could also get several groups running under different Storytellers and have one head Storyteller and do a larger picture kinda story. So if your group does one action it may affect another group, personally I like this idea ( kinda like what White Wolf did with the World of Darkness larps ). In fact lets shoot for that, Try to get a regional story line going. Let me know what you think.

To answer Tim, I was thinking bi-weekly on Sundays. But it depends on whats best for the group as a whole and if we actually get several groups going (and which group your in).

P.s. - I was going to put this in the Specialty Game section but I can not post there.

I would prefer something other than Sundays. I try and stay home with the family. =) Where are you thinking of doing it at? We could potentially have it at my house with our Bi-Weekly Warhammer night. Can we play all night at Games and Stuff (till like 4-5am)? Would be kinda cool if it was at least an option to consider.

Well we can hammer this out once we get the groups together. One group could meet at a different time and place as another group, hence we need to get all those interested together and find out what kind of game they would prefer. One group could be more into the investigation aspect and another could be more into the idea of being more of the hammer of the inquisition, while another group could like a mix of the two. And with Rogue Trader, waiting on the book to be delivered in the mail, we don't have to be inquisitor acolytes. I am personally interested in creating a Rogue Trader.

Been playing rpgs for years, not recently though. I have not yet had the chance to play the 40k rpg, interested in the group though.

Hey, I'm interested in doing rouge trader and have 2 people that are interested with me, one of which is in IC aswell. We've only done dark heresy once and kinda winged it so we will need someone to teach us as we go, we are very quick learners. What time are you gonna be at the bunker on sunday/monday, other than that just let me know when the meeting is to get this thing rolling.

I plan on being at the Bunker on Sunday and Monday from Noon till roughly 7 or 8 pm. Rogue Trader does not get released till Gencon, which is September 13th to 16th, but I should have my copy of the book by the 16th at the latest (pre-ordered thru Fantasy Flight). I will have my books for Dark Heresy with me, so if anyone is interested at taking a look feel free to ask me while there.

Ok, for those who are interested in participating in this please post what you would like to do, would you like to play or be a storyteller? So far I have only talked to two people in person, I would like to start this up in the middle of October if not the beginning of November. Post your Name and what you would like to play as or if you would like to be one of the groups storyteller. Later today or tomorrow I will post a better idea of how things are going to be structured and general information.

I talked with a few people and decided that it would probably be a good idea to post pone the start of RPG group till after the Blood Bowl season. But I would still like for people to talk on the list here about their ideas and what they would like to see. The structure for story tellers will be something like this:

Elder Council ( Top 3 or 4 Storytellers, need their approval for major plots, use of book written npcs or characters such as xenos or space marines )
Council of Storytellers ( All Storytellers, gather to talk about plots that can affect other groups and large group events or barrow players or npcs created by other storytellers )
Group Storyteller ( Good for approving pretty much anything for their groups on there own, tho they may want to talk to the Council so they don't tamper with another group by accident )

Under that its just players. Now the Elder Council will have to talk among themselves and come to agreements before approving things. I hate to say it but we can't have everyone playing Space Marine characters. Reason one, we don't have official rules for them yet ( tho we do have a really good fan made rule set for now ) and two Space Marines are a rare sight to your average Imperial citizen. So I suggest that the Elder Council should decide on how they want to handle SM and Xenos characters.

Also I want to come up with a time line for the games. I mean like how much time passes in the game within a week or month.

More to come as I get feedback and talk with everyone.

This is probably a good idea to not compete with the Blood Bowl crazies. This also gives me some time to switch to school mode to make sure I have enough time for this, because it does seem to be fun. Thanks for the update Fred.
