I will be running a Kings of War escalation league at Dropzone Games starting July 5th. I have put some details below on how it will work, but Tom has a full rules pack at the store. He will be opening offically this Friday at 3pm, so please go sign up and get a rules pack if you are interested.

Kings of War Escalation League:

- Starting at 500pts

- Starts on July 5th, Ends August 9th

- At least 50% of your army has to be Mantic models, the rest can be what ever you feel you want to use!

- League will finish out at 1500 points

- No entry fee

- You can play 3 games each week, must be against different opponents, you will get 50 points for a win, 25 for a draw and 10 points for a loss.

- Rules are downloadable from www.manticgames.com, but if you purchase the new 3rd edition rulebook in July from Dropzone Games, you will get 50 bonus points for the league!

Hope we can get a big group to play. Mantic will be running a Kings of War tournament at Adepticon in 2013 that will see the winner awarded $2,000!!!! So if you think you are a good player and want to test a new system, get your practice now and a chance to win some money.

Are you going to be doing multiple leagues? or just 1? and if you dont play in league is there anywhere we can learn the game just to learn it?

I want to play the elves but they look... sooo bad in the photos do you have any completed that i could look at sometime joe?

Yeah I am doing elves for the league. They aren't the best in the world but with a goo paint job they are nice

the game looks very interesting and pretty basic. Which honestly is a nice change and allows you to think more of the tactics to the game than rules crunching. I love the hero models for the twlight elves but the kits just look lastlust compared.. =(

Yes the game is very tactical and lets the player focus more his play rather then a rule book littered with unclear wording.

And I may change the rules for the models, but the league does new to support the store and products for system.

Oh i totally get the idea behind it Joe. I just wish there was a model line that I'd be interested in playing for the game at this time. Nothing strikes me as man I'd really like to play that.

Again i think it might be the Photos of the elves, that is lacking on the site. When you are working on them next time I'd like to check them out and get a better look at the models.

I'm in to I think I'm going to be doing elves But i might switch to undead

One thing i was wondering is what is released for the twilight kin? cause i was looking at the army list and i don't see a ton of models that are in the list.

Haha... Maybe for some type of fee. My time is rather precious right now. =P The game reminds me a little like Warmaster.

Tom is also taking pre-orders on the rulebook that will release next month. Anyone who gets their book from Tom will get an extra 50pts toward their league total.

The book retails for $34.99 and is a steal compared to other books.....

What's a good start for 500 points, do you want lots of small units, big unit, elites, are heroes worthwhile at that level?

Martin, that's awesome man it will e a blast. The rules that are up right now are 2nd edition. The book will be 3rd edition. The core rules are the same but we have tightened up some stuff from player suggestions.

I wil make sure Tom has a book for you.

That sounds good! I am unsure if I want to do abyssal dwarves or regular dwarves... It seems many people are not playing those armies

so if I have this right, you never actually remove models as casualties?
I can see this turning into the unit-filler Olympics

@Martin- You dont have to remove models no, but you will always have unit filler olympics no matter the game. at least in our game system you dont have to worry about keeping track of what is actually there and is not.

hey joe! so when i was putting my ironclad dwarf unit together it didnt come with 20 hand weapons so i had to do some convertering. the box says 20 but it only came with about 16. i was wondering if i did it wrong or just got a bad box... any insight?

Sorry about that Brandon, I don't know what the spruce looks like of the top of my head but I will look into it. Next time I see you at Tom's I will get you a couple extra figs for mix up.
