so I've been out of the loop a bit and plan on playing some fantasy for fun no tourneys. I refuse to pay games workshop prices for anything so was going to make a warstore purchase unless someone knows of another discounter.

Miniature Market - 25% off GW prices.

http://www.miniaturemarket.com/table-top-miniatures/games-workshop.html

Here is a link to their pricelist. http://j.b5z.net/i/u/2042237/i/D1210.xls

Is this where we can get on our high horse and say, "if you don't patronize the B&M stores where you play, how can you expect to have them available to play at?" Unless of course you only ever play in your basement, in which case, go nuts.

i agree with supporting a flgs. however i don't use one. i have played 2 games at G&S and one was a paid admission tourney where 5 people showed. as for a GW retail store, there is no way im paying that kind of money there. when i used to go to days of knights semi regularly id almost always purchase a box or 2 even if i didn't win a voucher, which to be honest wasn't often i didn't win a voucher, but i did use their mail order to stay current when they had (may still do this) a rewards program where you got a percentage back for all your GW purchases if you bought something GW related every month. GW gets their sale as the wholesaler one way or another. The mission of the store according to their MIT program is to support the hobby no matter where the models were purchased. The only reason i buy GM minis honestly is for the off chance i play in one of their stores or sanctioned tourneys which seem to be rarer and rare anyhow. Finecast has been a huge success they say, im sure it is. less cost to make, more profit for them. how much is a single mounted finecast character now?

Finecast is usually around $15 per model, which isn't too bad for the hero/lord they represent.

But I will say this... Games & Stuff is a wonderful establishment run by wonderful people who gladly hand us the entire upper floor of their building to play in without a single word of asking us to buy stuff or hand them money. That is why, honestly, I'll be purchasing all of my supplies from G&S. Granted, getting 25% off the Battalions to start an army is a great way to do it, but all my future paints, basing supplies, and choice boxed units to expand my army will be purchased from G&S. I feel they've earned my patronship.
