From what I've played, it's fun.
The concept is cool, kinda like a UT domination game where you hold the checkpoints.
Use your monsters to take down checkpoints (since only one model can attack), and your units to defend.
Magic makes it really random though. Miscasts constantly stuff moving around, couple of lucky rolls and someone who's completely out of a game can spawn a caster and take control of an extra pillar to end up winning..
Might be cool to do a straight up pitched battle with he SoM allowance/demonic pacts and stuff. Definitely ditch the spinner, and maybe keep the spells, but use the regular 2D6 power dice.
