Okay so after a long thought process and talking to everyone we have decided to run a 6 month chain of tournaments. It starts out with a 500 point army, kind of like a war band of sorts. That leads to become a great army that conquers empires. so the tournament list of points goes from 500 to 1000 and increases by 500 each tournament till it reached 3000.

So for the first tournament of 500points

Rules are simple.

1.No lords
2.No special characters (sorry daemons means no mask!) this includes unit upgrades such as changeling.
3. No unit over 30 models
4. minimum of 2 units (instead of 3)
5. Champions can be generals so you don't have to put a character in your list.(they can take 25pts of magic items)
6. There will be no fortification objectives so don't worry.
7. there will be objective based games would be good to have a unit to hold or get them.
8. also for champions as generals you get 25pts magic items.(they don't count towards what ever the champ is like core and special they just a 25pt allowance for items, but they count towards army pt total.)
We will be holding this at Games and stuff. The date is March 3rd. Its 5 rounds 1 day event. $5 dollar entry fee goes towards prizes. Food will be provided(not home made sorry).
so sign up now. Winners will be 1st 2nd n 3rd. We do not have a painting requirement how ever we do hope you try to paint your army for it since its only 500 points!

The idea for list in this series of tournaments goes like this you make a 500 point list then next tournament it will be 1000 points and you use your original list just upgrade your characters add units and expand to a 35 cap on models and so forth at 2000points however all caps are off except no special characters so anythings good. This is a fun tournament series over the course of the next 6 months each tournament will be spaced out about 1 month apart so people have time to prepare, paint, and build models for. It will not interfere with any of the big tournaments or little tourneys that people people will be attending. I hope that everyone will participate and enjoy this fun change in the tournament scene. We also have some fun twist to be seen as the months goes on. 500 points will mostly pitched battle. Any changes will be posted.

Please post here saying what army you will play and if you will be attending or if your interested in attending and i will post a date in the next 2 weeks I apologize for not having the date right now have to talk to the owner of the place we are holding it.

Also keep in mind when using this list you make you take the same troops and same type of characters for instance you take a lvl 1 sorc with ruby ring at 500. at a 1000 take either same sorc or lord choice sorc with different item combo. you can change items and such but same things stay in list. Just keep that in mind. If you use your champion as a general you can change that.

I'd add that you must play the same army book all the way through.

Im in, and it is the same book because you are adding to your initial list.

Yes it is same book all the way through I thought that was stated by saying your just adding to your list you use because there is no longer anyway to combine 2 armys.

Do we have to keep the same Magic items on the characters that we take when the points increase?

I like in I am in! Probably warriors of course. I do think you should specify what characters can't be taken with daemons because some of them are unit upgrades like the changeling right?

Changeling is a Special Character. Usually anyone that is named and has its own rules counts as special.

Correct no named characters so changeling wouldn't work. Basicaly every army will have either a sorcress a hero fighter or use a champion as theregeneral if they do that then they can take more points in other things.

I think it would be really cool to have it be open list.

So for each tournament we send aroy our lists and then he checks them and posts them up. So we cant change the lists after we see each others and it will make it kind of suspensful as to who we are playing.

Just a thought....

Also btw for 500 pts no unit upgrades such as characters as changleing and the de and ones like that are allowed in this. treat them as named characters and are a big no no lol.

I had to make an account just to say how amazing this idea is and that I would love to attend. I'm just getting back into Warhammer after about a couple year hiatus and this would be a great way for me to ease back in.

If you don't have too many people yet, I'll be playing Warriors of Chaos.

Last rule change everyone 2 unit minimum instead of 3 . Remember there will be objectives.

Any set date on when this will start? will we have a rules packet or will it all be on the forums?

Are we waiving the BSB rule for Brets?
They have to have a BSB and get it as a free upgrade, but it means you need at least two heroes to cover the general as well.

I think we can remove the BSB for Brets, and the TK, Vamp heirohant/general should be able to be a unit champion as well.

Round length about n 45min to an hour depending when everyones done early we will call it early. Start between 10-1130 probably

As co-host of this event, I apologize for the short notice. I had originally scheduled an event on March 3rd, and after speaking with Josh and Scooter had agreed to replace my event with there's. For the convenience of Games and Stuff, the best time to run a recurring event was the first weekend, as the other weekends commonly have other events taking place, so this way no large events will overlap. So for subsequent events in the escalation tournament, the event will most likely take place on the first weekend of every month, unless it coincides with a major tournament.

The tournament will start at noon on March third, so anybody who plans on coming be there by 11:45.

I'll see you there little man TK or VC I'm hopping VC...
