I'm unlikely to ever use my 40k Nurgle Daemons in competitive play, so I doubt this will be an issue, but here goes.

At Adepticon, I got the ultracool Nurgle Plague frogs to use as Beasts of Nurgle (yes, I know they suck in comparison to fiends, etc. It's a theme list). Sadly, Plague Frogs, while awesome, don't fit on 40mm bases. Would anyone have a massive brain hemorrhage if I put them on 60mm bases?

I mean, which would you rather have?

I don't think people would really care as long as you explained it.

Back when I played Fantasy I had a Reaper bone giant that I didn't get to fit on the normal base, it was on a chariot base instead(double the length of the normal squad base). I even played in a couple tournaments with it. I just explained the situation to my opponent and basically told them that they should take the best opportunity that they can from it. So if the longer base was in the way of movement, ignore it and treat it like the size it should be but if they side charged the giant they could count the longer base for getting models in contact with it, etc.

Everyone was ok with it at that point once I made it clear that I wasn't trying to get any advantage out of it and that it was just a modeling choice to not have to use the crappy GW Bone Giant.

It's a serious disadvantage for you, so most people should be fine with it..

However from personal experience I know, if you win, they will blame the base sizes=-)
