| I would love to comment on this list, however, the copy and paste from Army Builder makes it incredibly annoying to read. Is there any way you can format this list a bit?

| From what I have been seeing in the tournament scene, mechanized armies are heavily prevalent. Given that, you are a little light on ranged anti-tank firepower.
Your units, however, are more resilient than most against dedicated AP 3/2 shooting and power weapons.
Unless you have opponents that you regularly play against, I think you will struggle against a mechanized list.
I also see horde armies giving you a lot of trouble.
If you really want to do thousand sons, I suggest breaking the squads up a bit and getting rid of Abaddon, he is a bit too slow and a bit too costly. Free up some points for Rhinos and give your sorcerers Bolt of Change instead of Warptime.

| The big problem here has been mentioned already: anti-tank. If 4th ed was a vehicle wasteland then 5th ed is its rebirth. Transports are getting cheaper and cheaper, and are surprisingly hard to bring down except with the largest guns. With slow & purposeful you'll likely never get across to threaten a mechanized list. When you spend over 500 points on each troop choice that now can't actually kill anything, that's a bad sign.
What I really hate to say is that Thousand Sons simply are not that competitive in 5th edition. Part of the issue is the other troop choices are better & cheaper. Yes yes, ap3 and all, but not all armies are in power armor, and there's plenty of cover around. |

| I actually had an opportunity to play against an all 1000 sons list last week with my all mech eldar list. He was essentially tabled by turn 3, though his outflankers were able to make a game of it in turn 5-6. Not that that's what'll happen every time, but he really suffered from not having any tank weapons except he brought a defiler (which shot once then died).
It was a fun game though and fluffy, and I could see it being effective against battleforce-mixed marine forces that themselves weren't meched up, but anybody in tanks is going to ruin your day. |
